Thrill Rides at Hotels and Casinos on The Strip
Some of the best thrill rides and roller coasters in the world are in the Las Vegas area. In fact, almost all of these rides are at local hotels and casinos.
Faster, higher, wilder, it all depends on what roller coaster riders are after. Some riders are totally into the thrill aspect, others are speed freaks and then you find the roller coaster riders who are purists who examine all the technical aspects of how the rides are put together. In Las Vegas, there is something for everyone. Here’s a rundown of some of the best roller coasters in Las Vegas.

People come to Las Vegas for gambling and for shows, but roller coaster fans can have a pretty good time riding a rather eclectic selection of rides. They stay in hotels, motels, and come in as day-trippers, just to ride the roller coasters.
The Stratosphere Hotel/Casino – Insanity, XScream, Big Shot
The Stratosphere Hotel/Casino at the north end of the Strip towers over 1,000 feet high and features three rides on the very top, all of them terrifying because of the height, their names – Insanity, X Scream, and Big Shot.
Sahara Hotel – Speed: The Ride
45 seconds of terror one of the newest rides on The Strip. Vegas.com says: “Simply put, Speed – The Ride is the best ride in Las Vegas.” accelerates from 0 to 70 mph in four seconds. Just as passengers start breathing again, the roller coaster quickly climbs a 224-foot tower. Once the coaster reaches the top, riders experience the entire journey backward. This roller coaster ride is 1,365 feet long.
Circus Circus – Canyon Blaster, Chaos, Inverter
Canyon Blaster in the Circus Circus Adventuredome is probably one of the only indoor double-loop, double-corkscrew roller coasters in the world. This ride is really awesomely thrilling with its double loop and corkscrew. It drops 90 feet and hits 55 mph over a 2,000-foot long track and lasts 1:45. Not the fastest coaster, but a ride to remember.

New York New York: Manhattan Express – Longest Ride
Known to be one of the longest rides at two minutes and 45 seconds, with a top speed of 67 mph Manhattan Express puts riders in a New York State of Mind. It is said the crazy 540-degree spiral makes it one of the most popular coasters on the Strip.
Buffalo Bill’s: Desperado & Turbo Drop
Not quite in Vegas, in Primm, Nevada just 40 miles south of Las Vegas on I-15, coaster fans will find Desperado, a very tall roller coaster. In fact, with a 225-foot drop down a 55-degree descent on the first hill, the Desperado is one of the tallest roller coasters in North America.
