Family Accommodations in Sin City
Although Las Vegas is generally marketed for adult tourists, there are still some hotels that are kid-friendly with attractions for children. Despite the gambling, adult entertainment, and alcohol consumption, there are still lots of things to do in Las Vegas for suitable kids. From free circus acts, to a nightly erupting volcano, and a medieval jousting match, Las Vegas still has plenty of activities for the children along with many hotels that are family-friendly.
Circus Circus Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas
One of the best hotels for families in Las Vegas is Circus Circus. For starters, there’s plenty of activities and entertainment to keep kids busy. Families can enjoy free circus acts like the Flying Poemas and African Acrobats International.
At the Midway, kids can play a variety of games and earn prizes. There’s also the Adventuredome which is a five-acre, indoor amusement park that features rides, laser tag. Tickets can be purchased individually, although all-day passes are available.
For mealtime, Circus Circus hosts several restaurants, some of which have kids specials or special pricing for kids. Families can dine casually at the pizzeria or have a thick, juicy steak at The Steakhouse. Picky eaters won’t have any problems finding something to eat at the Circus Buffet.
Family Friendly Excalibur Hotel in Las Vegas
Kids and adults can experience medieval times at the Excalibur Hotel. For a fun family night out there’s the Tournament of Kings Dinner Show where families can enjoy a jousting competition along with Merlin the Magician, and dancing maidens.
Kids can also have a great time at the Midway which features both carnival and arcade games. The Excalibur is also home to Spongebob Squarepants 4D™. For some outdoor fun, there’s the newly expanded pool complete with a water slide.
Family Fun at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas
One of the best pool complexes in Las Vegas is found at the MGM Grand. Families can swim or rent an inner tube to float down the hotel’s river. Ping pong is offered in the pool area as well. There’s also an arcade to keep amused along with a lion habitat.
A fun family dining experience can be had at the Rain Forest Cafe. This casual dining restaurant transports guests to a rain forest with tropical sounds and forest animals that come alive.
Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas
There’s no lack of water play at Mandalay Bay. Hosting it’s own beach, families can swim, play in the wave pool, (available to guests 48″ and up,) or take a ride down the river. Kids can get up close and personal at Mandalay Bay’s Shark Reef Aquarium which also features piranha, rays, and golden crocodiles.
It’s hard to get much more family-friendly than Disney and Mandalay Bay is home to Disney’s spectacular stage production of The Lion King. Shows are Monday through Thursday at 7:30 pm, with two shows on Saturdays and Sundays at 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm.
Family Activities at the Mirage in Las Vegas
Kids can get a chance to see white tigers, panthers, and leopards at Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat, along with a family of bottlenose dolphins. At the poolside, rafts can be rented to float around the pool while enjoying a waterfall. The Mirage provides complimentary life jackets for children.
At night, families can watch the thrilling Mirage Volcano as it erupts every hour on the hour from dusk until 11:00 pm. This attraction is free. Kids can find some of their favorite comfort food at BLT Burger and California Pizza Kitchen.
Even though Las Vegas has returned to more of an adult vacation destination, there are still plenty of family activities and kid-friendly hotels for families who like all the entertaining things to do in Las Vegas.
