There are now seven versions of Cirque du Soleil showing in Las Vegas, Nevada; these are Mystere, O, Zumanity, Ka, Love, Believe, and Viva Elvis.
Cirque due Soleil is one of many shows performed nightly in several hotels on the Las Vegas Strip; however, Cirque du Soleil now has seven versions of the show in Las Vegas alone. Each show, although based around the same principles, is different so it is useful to learn more about the individual Cirque du Soleil show before attending. This is a brief introduction to the seven Cirque du Soleil shows in Las Vegas.
Mystere at Treasure Island
Mystere is the original Cirque du Soleil show and is presented at Treasure Island Hotel and Casino. Acts included in the Mystere production of Cirque du Soleil include spectacular feats of balancing, Chinese poles, and high bar trapeze act with a combination of colorful costumes and stage imagery. Mystere’s premise is quoted as “the ultimate discovery that life itself is a mystery.”
O at Bellagio, Las Vegas
O is Cirque du Soleil’s aquatic version, presented at the Bellagio Resort and Casino. O includes synchronized swimmers and world-class acrobats who perform spectacular circus acts in, on, or around water. O is said to be inspired “by the concept of infinity and the elegance of water’s pure form.”
Zumanity at New York, New York
Zumanity is presented as the sensual side of Cirque du Soleil and is presented at New York, New York Hotel and Casino. Zumanity is a show which is provocative, erotic, and daring – with the incorporation of acrobatic circus acts and sensual dances. Zumanity is not a family show and is targeted at adults aged 18 years and over. Zumanity is marketed as “part burlesque and part cabaret” with an invite to leave inhibitions behind.
Ka at MGM Grand, Las Vegas
Ka is described as the “gravity-defying” production of Cirque du Soleil. It is presented at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino. Ka is a spectacle of over 80 artists from diverse cultures with the inclusion of acrobatics, puppetry, martial arts, and dancing.
The Beatles Love at The Mirage
Love is Cirque du Soleil‘s tribute to the Beatles and is presented at the Mirage Resort and Casino. Love includes original recordings of the Beatles music. Sixty international artists present Love in Cirque du Soleil style with dance, aerial performance and extreme sports.
Believe at The Luxor, Las Vegas
Criss Angel Believe is a trip into the surreal world and mind of Cirque du Soleil. The show is presented at the Luxor Las Vegas Resort Hotel and Casino. Believe is a mix of illusions combined with dance, but is not a traditional “magic” show. Believe‘s main character, Criss Angel, a surreal Victorian Noble, is supported in the show by Kayala and Crimson, two women who represent different aspects of femininity.
Viva Elvis at Aria Resort and Casino
Viva Elvis is the newest Cirque du Soleil show in Las Vegas. It is presented at the new Aria Resort and Casino at CityCenter and is a tribute to Elvis Presley in Cirque du Soleil style. Elvis Presley’s association with Las Vegas is played out in dance, acrobatics, and, of course, music. Significant moments in Elvis Presley’s life are presented in Cirque du Soleil’s Viva Elvis.
